Our story

It all began with a Craigslist email in 2014. Jenn was living in Brooklyn but searching for a new apartment with better roommates. She spent weeks scrolling through Craigslist posts until one day she spotted an ad for a Park Slope apartment in need of a roommate. It had a beautiful outdoor terrace that caught her eye and friendly sounding roommates. She emailed them immediately and nervously waited for a response.

Little did she know that Daniel was on the other end of that email. He had just moved to Brooklyn after completing his PhD in Australia. If you're from the city, you’d know that a Park Slope apartment is pretty desirable! Thus Daniel and his roommate were flooded with emails from people seeking to fill their third room. Even so, there was something about Jenn’s email that placed her at the top of the list. Maybe it was the line in her email saying “I make awesome kale salads” or “will take the initiative to mop the floors” that caught Daniel’s eye.

The interview line up was highly competitive. It included a man who worked at a brewery that could hook them up with the best beers and a woman with an insanely cute dog. As soon as Jenn stepped inside she knew she loved the apartment and was swooning over Daniel’s New Zealand accent. Daniel, on the other hand, knew that they could not be roommates - not because Jenn wasn’t amazing but because she was a bit too amazing! Fortunately, the other roommate got their way and Jenn moved in a mere two weeks later.

After moving in, Jenn and Daniel soon became good friends. They joined a shuffleboard team together (and placed top 5 in all of Brooklyn!), attended concerts, hosted parties, and got to know each other's friends. They were smitten with each other but both were too nervous to make the first move - after all they were roommates! Over a year later, they decided to take the plunge and now here we are on Jenn and Daniel’s wedding website. Who would have ever thought a Craigslist email would lead to something so wonderful?
